Melvin Williams
Coach Williams is entering his 11th year of public education for the state of Texas, and his third year with Madisonville CISD as a High School Speech teacher/coach. Coach Williams is the Head Boys Basketball and Assistant Track Coach. Prior to Madisonville, Coach Williams worked for New Waverly ISD for eight years (2015-2023) as a District Wide Adaptive PE teacher and Head Boys Basketball Coach. Coach Williams is a 2X Back to Back District Champion, Coach of the Year (2021 and 2022) and Regional Tournament Qualifier (2021 and 2023). District 17-4A Co-Coach of the Year (2025).
Coach Williams is from Houston,Texas. He is a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology (2012) and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction (2014). Coach Williams enjoys watching sports, collecting shoes, playing dominoes and relaxing at home during his free time.
